He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Johnston and Minnie Johnston; and his sisters, Josephine Smith and June Iverson. He is survived by: his wife Jane Atherstone Johnston; his children, Jeanette Carpenter (Doug, Jr.), Thomas Johnston and Matthew Johnston (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, Douglas Carpenter III (Hannah), Jared Carpenter (Emily), Zachary Carpenter (Kelli), Lori McClung (Javan), Isabella Johnston and Maggie Johnston. He is also survived by six great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
The service is Private due to Covid restrictions at the church.
