It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Burton Gooch (Memphis, Tennessee), born in Yuma, Tennessee, who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Gooch and Arlie Springer Gooch; his wife Dorothy Jean Gooch; his former life partner Julia Bradshaw Gooch; and his daughter Jan Gooch.

He is survived by : his children, Jerry Gooch (Carol) of Memphis and Priscilla Speck (Stephen) of Nashville, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Gregory Burton Gooch, Courtney Gooch Davis, Lauren Gooch Crabtree, Stephen Randall Speck, Travis Mitchell Speck and Meredith Speck Clayton. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
