He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cynthia Alena Johnston and James Albert Johnston; his wife Joan Tibbs Johnston; his children, Jerry Kirk Johnston (Karen Grupp Johnston) of Memphis, James Kevin Johnston (Amy Rhodes Johnston) of Memphis and Julie Johnston Litfin (Matthew Allen Litfin) of Wheaton, Ill.; his grandchildren, Kate Johnston, Allie Johnston, Fraser Johnston, Ethan Johnston, Ross Johnston, Luke Johnston, Sally Litfin, Lauren Litfin and Audrey Litfin; his brother James Dennis Johnston (Sheila Davidson Johnston) of Paducah; and his niece Kathryn Denise Johnston Jennings (Craig Lee Jennings).
