He is survived by : his wife Harriett Dill Godwin; his children, Ann Elizabeth Livingston, Jimmie Lewis Godwin Jr. (Bo) of Arkansas, Theresa Lynn Williams of Arkansas, Brenda Gail Howell (Steven) of Arkansas, Richard Lawrence Godwin (Colleen) of Washington, Christopher Lee Godwin (Brandi) of Virginia and Ashlynn Marie Owens (David) of Arkansas; and his siblings, Larry Godwin (Linda) of Arkansas and Cathy Holiman (Michael) of Arkansas. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
