She was predeceased by: her father William Melvin. She is survived by: her husband Scott Kirkman; her children, Katherine Ashley Matthews (Brian) and John Matthew Harrell; her mother Elinor Ankrom; her siblings, Tricia Lapping, Julie Goodwin and Parker Melvin; her stepbrother Philip Richards; and her grandsons, Jackson Matthew Orman and Ethan Samuel Matthews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that all memorials be sent in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
