He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Luther E. Gatlin and Pauline Gatlin; his wife Mattie Ruth Bell; his daughters, Linda Gatlin, Sandra Gatlin King (Mark) and Janice Gatlin Stacy (Jimmy); and his grandchildren, Heather Marie Downes, Samuel Gatlin Pascale and Hallie Grace Pascale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Memphis Union Mission.
