He was predeceased by: his son Bill Wherry; and his grandson Lawson Wherry. He is survived by: his wife Alice Wherry; his son Steve Wherry (Kay); his grandchildren, Cam Wherry, Jeanie Wheeler and David Wherry; his children, Cathy Laughlin (Loran) and Russell Wherry (Debi); and his grandchild Kyle Wherry.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes or Covenant Baptist Church.
