He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul Jenkins and Ellen Jenkins; his brother Leon Jenkins; and his parents-in-law, Clyde and Fontella Lewis.

He is survived by : his wife Jean Lewis Jenkins; his children, Kathy Martin (Carl), Carol Brown (Eddie) and Stephen Jenkins; his grandchildren, Stephen Brown (Stephanie), Cory Glenn (David Clemmons), Sean Glenn, Erin Jenkins and Sam Jenkins; his great grandchildren, Hannah and Peyton Brown; and his siblings, Jimmy Jenkins, Betty Flick and Pam Sawyer. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
