He was predeceased by : his parents, Geneva Stiles Ownbey and Lester Frank Ownbey. He is survived by : his wife Juanita Miles; his sons, Phil (Jean) and Richard (Catherine); and his grandchildren, Meghan (Brandon), Ian (Sara) and Danielle (Josh).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Belle Meade Methodist Church.
