He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Ray Finch and Marguerite Harris Finch; his wife Kay; his children, Stuart and Kelly; his grandchildren, Miriam, Emily and Eddie Oakes; his children-in-law, Ashley Finch and Michael Oakes; his sister Lee Ann Cooper; his brother-in-law Keith; his nieces, Rachel Cooper and Carrie Abdel-Jaber; and his great-nephews, Nabil and Sulaimon.

Memorials may be given in his honor to the American Cancer Society and Colonial Park United Methodist Church.
