He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Hayes and O. D. Hayes; and his brother John L. Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Hayes; his sons, Fredrick Hayes (Marnita) and Roderick Hayes (Arlisa); his siblings, Brenda Crommie (Maurice), Maxine Bowles (Emanuel), Jacqueline Hayes and Thomas Johnson; and his grandchildren, Fredrick (Lil Fred), Ariana, Honoria, Rhyan, Kirsten and Elijah. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
