He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Marie Davis Coggin; his parents, Slater Elias and Georgia Coble Coggin; and his siblings, James Buell Coggin, Bobby Lee Coggin and Lyhn Era Coggin Pinnix.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald Coggin (Joanne) and Deborah Broome (Hillary) of Murfreesboro; his siblings, Glen Coble Coggin (Barbara) of Frankewing, TN and Judith Coggin Mitchell (Terry) of Pulaski, TN; his sister-in-law Sue Coggin of Frankewing; his grandchildren, David Coggin (Maria) of Murfreesboro, Robert Coggin (Betsy) of Murfreesboro, Adam Coggin (Holly) of Murfreesboro, Jeremy Broome (Ashley) of Baxter, TN and Amy Broome of Murfreesboro; and his great grandchildren, Carl of Murfreesboro, Ben of Murfreesboro, Slater of Murfreesboro, Nik of Murfreesboro, Katy of Murfreesboro, Jenna of Murfreesboro, McCall of Murfreesboro, Logan and Will Broome of Baxter, TN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
