He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert Cecil and Katherine Ethel Williams McCallister; his daughter Mary Frances "Fran" Harrell; and his stepsons, Chris and Phillip Underwood.

He is survived by: his wife Sara C. McCallister; his children, Michael E. McCallister (Tjuana), Jeffery McCallister (Michelle) and Teresa Chelette (Tim); his siblings, Dorothy Craft, Ethel McCallister, Grace McCallister, Debbie Rowland, Charles, Robert, Fred and John McCallister; and his stepsons, Randal and Clifford Underwood. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
