He was predeceased by: his father James T. "Sonny" Layne. He is survived by: his daughter Betsy Compton (Wes Compton); his mother Linda Layne-Harris; his sisters, Melody Hovater and Kathy Bush (Robby Bush); his siblings' children, Jonathan Bush, Hayden Hovater, Harrison Hovater, Shelby Hooper and Kaci Bush; and his uncles, Glenn Layne, Bertram Layne and Bob Wright.

In keeping with Jeff's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life through organ and tissue donation.
