She was predeceased by: her husbands, James William Carter and Robert Henry Yates Sr.; her sisters, Christine J. Wiseman and Billie Ann Hoover; and her granddaughter Meredith.
She is survived by: her children, Robert H. Yates Jr., Patricia Carter Parker (David), Cathie Leighann Welch (Ben III) and David Edward Yates (Amanda); her grandchildren, Stephanie (Daniel), Robert III (Amber), Erika (Nick), Mary Kate (Matthew), Annabel, Bryant, Hayden and Natalie; and her daughter-in-law Rebecca Yates (Jessie Maurer). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
