She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Penney and Hazel Shadwick Penney; and her husband William P. "Bill" Nelms. She is survived by: her children, Porter Nelms (Shelley) and Pam Nelms Truitt (Brad) of Murfreesboro, TN; and her grandchildren, William "Will" Nelms, III, Jay Robert Truitt, Brenna Truitt, Kara Nelms, Jordan Vandiver and Kelsey Vandiver Choi. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in memory of Mrs. Nelms.
