With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rufus James Garrison Sr. (Murfreesboro, Tennessee), born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on February 14, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Sidney Clarence Garrison, Sr. and Sara Fuqua McMurry Garrison; and his siblings, Dr. S. C. Garrison, Jr., Frank Garrison, Sr., Dr. William Louis Garrison and Lucy Crabb.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kay" Ann Garrison; his children, R. James Garrison, Jr., David B. Garrison (Yipng) and Karen Goff Thomas; his grandchildren, Kimberly Goff Barlow (Jason), Robert M. Goff, Jr., Thomas J. Garrison and William D. Garrison; and his great grandchild Matthew P. Barlow.
