Porterfield (Laura) of Reston, VA; and her sister Sue Burkhart of Bradenton, FL.. She was also cherished by six grandchildren.

On January 28, 1961 she wed Wendell J. Porterfield, Jr. at the Wesley Foundation Chapel in Knoxville.
