Porterfield, III of Murfreesboro Kendell and Lendell W. Porterfield (Laura) of Reston, VA; and his sister Peggy Bowman (James) of Milton, TN.. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
On January 28, 1961 he married Sidney Ann Burkhart at the Wesley Foundation Chapel in Knoxville, TN.
