He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Roscoe and Delia Christian Hackney; and his siblings, Kenneth Hackney, Charles Hackney, Thelma Sherrill, Mary Ruth Hackney, Peggy Modrall, Jane Williams and Bob Hackney.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Burch Hackney; his children, Lisa Hackney (Moni Cook) and Kim Hackney Bowker; his grandchildren, Leah Bowker, Kara Bowker, Drew Cook, Anna Cook and Avery Cook; and his siblings, Leona Hall, Pat Hackney, Ernie Hackney and Ronnie Hackney. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort.
