He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Carswell and Ora Cullop Carswell; and his brother Ezra. He is survived by: his wife Rita Sloan Carswell; his children, Kevin Carswell (Heather) and Trisha Burns; and his stepchildren, Michael Vaden (Linda) and Michele Jarrett (Tommy). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Woodbine Funeral Home-Hickory Chapel (5852 Nolensville Pk, Nashville, TN 37211). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
