She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Adkins Sr. and Addie Adkins (Gosey); her husband William German Carothers; and her siblings, Manuel Adkins Jr., Walter Adkins, Dorsay Ford, Mary Adkins Childress, Maviron Adkins, Melanie Adkins and Reginald Adkins.
She is survived by: her children, George C. Carothers of Atlanta, GA, William D. Carothers (Alwanda), Don E. Carothers (Angela) and Brenda A. Carothers; and her grandchildren, Shameca Harris, Carlton Blakley, Kiya Reed, Adam Carothers, Leah Carothers, Chaz Carothers, Kayla Carothers and Alex Carothers. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lawrence Ave. Church of Christ - Lawrence Ave. (904 Lawrence Ave, Nashville, TN 37204). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
