He is survived by: his daughter Emily Spivey Sterling (Aaron); his sister Shirley Taylor of Gamaliel; his nephew Michael Wood (Joey) of Conroe, Texas; his sisters-in-law, Thelma Spivey and Lillian Spivey of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Teddy Spivey, Owen Sterling and Liam Sterling; and also, Lisa Petty (Dan) of Brentwood and Cathy Rutherford Spivey of Carthage.
