She was predeceased by: her parents, Paris Cosby and Della Cosby; her husband Edwin "Eddie" Bates; and her siblings, Clint, Eulice, Virgil, James, LeRoy, Warren Cosby, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Kesterson, Edna Noah and Lois Sandefur.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Claiborne~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Poplar Grove Cemetery (1008 Poplar Grove Rd, Harrogate, TN 37752).
