She was predeceased by : her parents, Theo Phillips and Melvie Godsey Phillips; her husband Herman Carrender; and her grandparents, Zackey and Mattie Godsey.

She is survived by : her nieces and nephews, Debbie Holmes (Mark) of Nancy, Junior Black (Kimberly) of Science Hill, Barbara Meece (Rick) of Somerset, James Black (Diane) of Science Hill, Kim Black of Somerset and Betty Black of Eubank, KY; and her brother-in-law Hubert Carrender of Somerset.
