He was predeceased by: his wives, Marcella Peck Gillis and Nancy Weaver Gillis; and his brother Sidney Hearne Gillis. He is survived by: his children, Angus Gillis III (Elaine Copeland) and Martha Gillis Gessler (Robert); his stepdaughter Jeana Moriarty; his grandchildren, Robert B. Gessler Jr., Brian Lee Gessler (Julie) and Elizabeth E. Gillis; and his great grandchild Ivan C. Gessler.
