He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Keith Goins, Sr. and Ruby Irene Hobson Goins; his wives, Sarah Fay Goins (Cathey) and Linda Diane Goins (Bissett); and his brother Michael Wayne Goins, Sr..

He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Shelton (Steve) of Charlotte and Kimberly Franklin (Ronald) of Hermitage; his stepsons, Alan Churchman (Kendra) of Mount Juliet and James Churchman (Haley) of Midlothian, Texas; and his grandchildren, Amanda Franklin, Chandra Franklin, Bryson Byrnes, Nolan Robinson, Ava Robinson, Corey Polk, Connor Polk and Emily Shelton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
