She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Charles and Viola Thornton Chandler; her husband Horace Powell; her daughter Kay Douglas; and her son-in-law Tommy Warf.

She is survived by: her children, Johnny Butler, Joan Warf, Nancy D. Huggins (Jack) and Penny Cummings (Barry); her son-in-law Kevin Douglas; and her grandchildren, Sabrina Baskin, Scott Warf, Wendy Smoot, David Edge III, Christy Wilson, Natalie Walton and Kaela Cummings.
