He was predeceased by: his siblings, Reuben Garrett, Eugene Garrett and Sue Gregory; and his great grandchild Leeya White. He is survived by: his wife Vera Flatt Garrett; his daughter Debra Flatt Whitaker (John); his grandchildren, Andrea White (Jon), Justin "Woody" Whitaker and Brittany Koehn (Justin); his great grandchildren, Katelyn, Riley, Christopher, Gracyn, Nataley, Sam, Zachary, Molly White, Chandler Koehn and Liam Koehn; his sisters, Laura Hunter of Lafayette, IN and Sandra Cooper (Gilbert) of Gallatin, TN; and his sisters-in-law, Polly Hance, Juanita Flatt, Christine Gragg (Wayne), Ora Fox (Junior), Barbara Dorris (Floyd), Judy Parham (Tom) and Jeanette Flatt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
