He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. Murphy Sr. and Frances L. Scott Murphy. He is survived by: his significant other Gerri Kaar; his brother Michael E. Murphy; and his nieces, Heather Spurlock and Amber Gaither. He is also survived by 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
