He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Campbell and Billie Campbell Godfrey; and his brother Jack Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Frances Campbell; his sons, Robert Campbell Jr. (Tracy) and Scott Campbell (Crystal); his grandchildren, Madison and Whitney Campbell; his siblings, Jim Campbell (Carolyn), Roger Campbell (Glenda) and Judy Parsons (Frank); and his sister-in-law Wanda Greenlaw (Willie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
