He is survived by: his wife Margaret Futrell Rather; his children, James Mark Rather (Angela) and Kimberly Sharp (Mike); his grandsons, James Derrick Rather (Miranda) and James Hunter Rather; his great grandchildren, Shae, Greenleigh and Jase Rather; and his siblings, Roy Rather, Virgie Mullins, Sue Woods and Pat Hensley.
