He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer "Dock" and Alice Marie Philips Motes; and his siblings, Beulah Jean Motes, Connie Reynolds, Johnny and Jackie Motes.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Jones Motes of Spring City; his daughters, Lori Motes Garrison of Spring City and Lisa Motes Price (David) of Spring City; his brothers, Buddy Motes of Ooltewah, Mack Motes (Wilma) of Eagleville, TN and Fred Motes (Jan Lowry) of Woodbury, TN; and his grandchildren, T. J. Garrison (Kayla Hall), Zackary Garrison, Morgan Price, Sydney Dodson (Chris), Anna Price and Luke Price.
