He is survived by: his wife Rita Smartt Crabtree; his son Drew Crab (Paulina); his mother Edna Gipson Crabtree; his granddaughter Charlee Crabtree; and his sisters, Diana Gillespie and Melinda Layne (Tim). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
