He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Gaut and Ruth Adeline Taylor (Kelly); his wife Margret Frances Dixon; and his siblings, Marguerite Elizabeth Pointer (Taylor), Charles Gaut Taylor, Celia Emeline Finn (Taylor) and James Thomas Taylor.

He is survived by : his children, Kelly Vickery "Vic" Taylor, Jr. (Marjorie) of Crossville, Michael Rhea "Mike" Taylor of Pikeville and Cecilia "Annette" Taylor of Ball Ground, Georgia; his grandchildren, Scarlett L. Measles (Brent), Jennifer R. Taylor Dyhr (Martin), William Kelly Taylor (Jamie), Rachel M. Martin (Kenny), John Michael Taylor (Leah), Lucas Buford Bilbrey, Kelly Ann Taylor Bilbrey and Lincoln Charles Bilbrey; and his great grandchildren, James Armstrong, Kody Dwight Martin, Ellika Lynette, Everly Susanne Dyhr, Wyatt Kelly, Wesley Jameson Taylor and James Bradford Taylor.
