We are sad to announce that on January 29, 2021, at the age of 69, Rocky Lee Burgess of Pioneer, Tennessee, born in Orange, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Burgess and Sybil Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Carol Burgess; his children, Whitney Posey (Dale), Mandy Holley (Matt) and Jamie Burgess; his grandchildren, Kelsey, Jayden, Ryann and Luke; his sisters, Rita Heiner (Kenneth) and Regie Matt; and his siblings-in-law, Anne Byrd, Deane Phillips, Becky Byrd and Glenn Byrd. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 and in cooperation with Governor Bill Lee's executive order, we ask that attendees maintain appropriate social distancing, observe current health guidelines, and be considerate of all others in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or American Cancer Society.

“Rocky and I graduated from Orangefield High School in 1970. We were very good friends. He was extremely popular and had a great sense of humor. Although he moved off he never really lost sight of his roots and kept his “old” friends in touch. From what I know he’s raised a good family and he was very successful in his life. We pray that God will comfort his family.”
