It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Katherine Carpenter of Portland, Tennessee, born in Franklin, Kentucky, who passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruben Cartwright and Estelle Cartwright (Coleman); her husband Mike Carpenter; and her niece Sherrie Buckley. She is survived by: her sons, Robert (Stephen) and Larry (Bonnie); her grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Zachary Jones (Alexandra), Austin Jones (Sabrina) and Lauren Jones (Scarlett); her sister Linda Wilkerson (Ray); her nieces, Donna Rohrman (Philip) and Teresa Wilkerson (Joe); and her nephew William Hale. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory (325 W Cedar St, Franklin, KY 42134). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
