He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Smith and Dora Keeton Smith; and his siblings, Geneva Putman, Kathryn Perry, Willadean King, Edward Smith, Clifford Smith, Alfred Bud Smith and Delma Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Dobbins (Jimmy) of Spring Hill, TN, Billy Joe Smith, Jr. (Yong Suk) of Edgewood, WA, Eric Smith (Jeannine) of Jupiter, FL, Stephen Smith (Peggy), Stanley Smith (Mercedes), Chasity Austin (Scott) of Radcliff, KY and Julianne Morgan (Michael) of New Johnsonville, TN; and his siblings, Marcus Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN and Pearl Hendrix of Lawrenceburg, TN.. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
