It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Betty Townsend of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, who passed away on November 11, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred David and Katie Mae Townsend Whitehead; and her siblings, Whitehead and Nellie Markland. She is survived by: her children, Mearl Townsend (Wilma) of Roan Mountain and Diane Largent (Freddy) of Roan Mountain; her granddaughters, Shannon Shaw (John) and Jennifer Shoun (Ryan) of Elizabethton; her great grandchildren, Braxton Shaw, Carter Shaw, Tate Shaw, Sadie Mae Shoun and Gavin Shoun; and her adoptive son Tommy Ingram (Mary).
