He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff Garrett and Lola Shoemaker Garrett of Elgin, TN.; his wife Mary Helen Garrett; his parents-in-law, Bill and Geneva Sexton; his brothers, James, Robert and Freamon Garrett; his brother-in-law Leland Byrd; his sister Elvie; his sisters-in-law, Leona Garrett, Mildred Garrett and Wanda Jean Griffith (Patton); and his nephews, Tommy Garrett and Earl Byrd.
He is survived by: his daughter Henrietta Garrett Henry (Anthony); his grandson Dakota Henry; his siblings, Freddie, Caldwell, Raymond, Steve Garrett (Charlotte), Ruth Potter and Gladys Potter; his sisters-in-law, Joetta and Sissy Garrett; and his nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Johnnie Garrett, Joyce Keeton, Jimmy, Teresa, Patti, Jason, Mark, Jamie, Natalie, Avery, Kaylee and Bentley Griffith. He is also survived by other nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
