He is survived by: his parent Lorene Nichols Elrod; his wife Shirley Elrod; his sons, Keith Elrod (Robbin) of Rockvale and Kevin Elrod (Erin) of Rockvale; his brother Donnie Elrod (Sheila) of Readyville, TN; his sister-in-law Lorene Elrod of Murfreesboro; and his grandchildren, Christopher Elrod, Rachel Elrod, Luke Elrod and Samuel Elrod. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
