With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Opal Fern Waye Gilliam of Rogersville, Tennessee, who passed away on June 2, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald J Gilliam; her grandson Joseph Luke Gilliam; her great grandchild Colin James Ray Ellis; her parents, James Waye and Rhea Waye; and her siblings, Ruby Long and Fred Waye.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah (Gilliam), Elkins (Mark), Ricky Gilliam (Rita) and Troy Gilliam (Amanda); her granddaughters, Samantha Manis (Chris Peters), Kristina Ellis (Jamie), Monica Templeton (Eugene), Shiane Gilliam (Zach Hedrick) and Haley Gilliam (Jason Andrews); her children, Samuel, Seth Manis, Kelli, Tucker, Ryker Ellis, Lukas, Emma Templeton, Eli McCray, Raylinn and Blakelyn Andrews; her nieces, Tina Bledsoe and Tammy Clevinger; her pet Punkin; and also Rocky "Elmo" Stubblefield.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Christian Sells Funeral Home (1520 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Christian-Sells Funeral Home (1520 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857). A procession will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Christian Sells Funeral Home (1520 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Highland Cemetery (899 E Main St, Rogersville, TN 37857).
