He was predeceased by : his wife Vernetta Miller Stewart; his parents, Bob Stewart and Mary Stewart; his sisters, Elizabeth Long and Claire McCain; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Stewart.

He is survived by : his children, Bonnie Madden of Bolton and Greg Stewart (Janeth) of Collierville; and his grandchildren, Becky Charles (Phillip) of Smyrna, TN and Daniel Stewart of Collierville. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
