She was predeceased by: her husband Howard E. Courtney; her parents, Jim Shipley and Ruth Shipley; and her brothers, J. T. (Reba Shipley) and John (Aline Shipley).
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra; her son-in-law Dennis Murray; her son Charles; her daughter-in-law Sonya Courtney; her granddaughter Sydney Courtney; her sister Carolyn; and her brother-in-law Jimmie Lowe. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 8:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (200 Jaybird Rd, Morristown, TN 37814). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (1944 Silver City Rd, Russellville, TN 37860).
