He was predeceased by: his parents, Pleas Smith and Rebecca Smith (Dudley) of Pisgah, AL.; his wife Helen Melton Smith; his daughter Bobbie Jo Smith Long of Jasper, TN; his granddaughters, Shandra King of Jasper, TN and Jennifer King Carter of Chatsworth, GA; and his brothers, Billy of Pisgah, AL. and Jim Smith of Pisgah, AL..
He is survived by: his children, Christy Ellis (Don) of Kimball, TN, Sherry Helton (Terry) of Summerville, GA, Teresa Anderson (Robert) of Panama City, FL and Dewayne (Sue) of Tullahoma, TN; his siblings, Johnnie Smith of Pisgah, AL and Tom Smith (Edna) of Flintstone, GA; and his close friend Pat Guy. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and three step grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
