He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddie E. Simmons and Loretta Rice Simmons; and his brothers, Alvin Simmons, Willian "Billy" Simmons and Ray Simmons.
He is survived by: his sons, Darrell Simmons of Hollywood, Mike Simmons (Mary) of Sequatchie and Tim Simmons (Robin) of Hollywood, Alabama; his grandchildren, Ethan Simmons (Hannah) of Jasper, TN, Tarin Simmons of Stevenson, Taylor Stephens (Jesse) of Stevenson, Zachary Simmons (Haley), Emily Pemberton (Brodey) of Whitwell, TN, Mary McBryar of Hollywood and Amber Simmons of Lake Okeechobee, Fla.; his sisters, Lois Neal of Nashville, TN and Linda Harris of Jasper, TN; and his close friends, Ronnie and Vicki Nunley.
