He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jean Ownby; his parents, Lee Ownby and Ida Ownby; his siblings, Carl Ownby, Sam Ownby (Grace), Montez Toney (Edward), Rue Roach (George) and Eva Lilly (Ed); and his brother-in-law Lee Newton.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Ownby (Fem), Don Ownby (Kathy) and Graham Ownby; his grandchildren, Samantha Ownby (Ben), Sherilyne Ownby, Shandi Maples (Bryson), Steven Ownby and Sam Ownby; his great grandchild Waylon Maples; his siblings, Fay McFalls (Bee), John Ownby (Christine) and Lee Ownby (Hazel); and his close friend Nancy McCoig.
