He is survived by : his daughter Barbara Ann Messick of Shelbyville; his stepdaughter Emma Jean Scott Pugh of Chapel Hill; his grandson William Timothy Scott Pugh; and his siblings, Donna Armstrong, Debra King, Roy Messick and Gary Messick. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
