He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Vernon McConnell and Milbrey Phillips McConnell. He is survived by: his daughter Valerie Cook McConnell; his grandchildren, Stasha McConnell of Shelbyville and Phillip McConnell (Britney); and his sisters, Elizabeth "Lizzy" McConnell, Avery McConnell, Kirstin McConnell and Chloe McConnell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Wounded Warriors Project.
