It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Oliver Benton Jr. of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, born in Jackson, Tennessee, who passed away on January 16, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Oliver Benton and Lucy Wilkerson Benton of Jackson; and his former life partner Jane Redd Benton. He is survived by : his siblings, George Oliver Benton, Isaac Benton and Harriet Benton Holland; his wife Elizabeth Crawford Benton; and his children, Thomas Wilkerson Benton (Palmer Norwood Benton), Dr. Oliver Benton III (Linda Butler Benton), Elizabeth Carlin Benton and Rebecca Benton Henderson (Timothy Henderson). He is also survived by two stepdaughters; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Chambliss Center for Children.
